Founded in 1891, Seattle University (the “University”) is the
largest independent university in Washington, with more than 7,000
students enrolled in undergraduate, graduate, and professional
programs. The 48-acre campus is located in Seattle’s diverse and
vibrant Capitol Hill neighborhood.
The University offers 61 undergraduate degree programs and 32
graduate degree programs in seven schools and colleges. Each year
more than 500 students study abroad in 45 countries while earning
credit toward their degrees. In addition, Seattle University offers
an interdisciplinary Executive Leadership Certificate Program.
One of 28 Jesuit universities in the United States and more than 100
around the world, Seattle University is dedicated to educating the
whole person, to professional formation, and to empowering leaders
for a just and humane world.
In March 2008 the University issued $26,595,000 Series 2008A Bonds
through the Authority for the purpose of refunding the outstanding
Series 1998 Bonds, thereby realizing interest rate savings.
The University has issued 13 series of bonds through the Authority
with a total par value of $246,561,402. The University anticipates
issuance of another series of Bonds in Fiscal year 2010 to expand,
renovate and construct new facilities on campus.
